As you walk in the door to our house, you see the words “Life is a journey and only you hold the map.” In this house these are words to live by. We want to share with those of you who are such a big part of our lives how we arrived at this decision. About three years ago we were driving around killing time in Tunkhannock with the kids in the back talking about our hopes for the future, where we want to go, what we what to do….our dreams. We drove by a big motor home for sale. We stopped and looked at it. Then we talked about how cool it would be to travel around the country seeing all the things we have never seen. You know how much we love to travel. We joked for a few weeks about traveling in an RV for a year. We looked at campers on line and read about families who have done this. No we are not the only crazy ones we found out. We decided to break it to our families. We wanted to give them lots of time to accept our craziness. For the past few years we haven’t made any large purchases, saved money any way we could and have tried to recycle what we have and give away what we could. We still have a long way to go to get rid of the rest. Well three years later here we are! We have gone to so many camper shows and RV dealerships our kids can tell you about anything you need to know about a camper. We decided to by a fifth wheel where the kids can have a room and lots of storage. We found a truck to pull our camper with the help of Marc’s brother Sean. Great White as the truck is called is all ready to go. We decided we needed to think about when we wanted to leave on this adventure and decided after my cousin Monica’s wedding. And now here we are ready to sell our house. We have such a great life here it is hard to give it up. We have amazing friends here! But…we are so busy going here and there. We really want to be involved in our children’s lives. We want to learn and grow with them. Life flies by so quickly and we want to take this time to pay attention to what really matters to us. We want them to learn about helping other and the world around them. We want them to know where we came from and how we got to where we are. Most people save a trip like this for retirement, but who knows what the future will bring. We feel we need to take this opportunity now while our children want to spend time with us or we will regret it.
