On our way to Hilton Head, Marc insisted that we stop so Marcus and Caroline could experience South of the Border. It was not busy at all and some of the stores didn’t even seem to be open, but they did get their pictures taken with Pedro. In Hilton Head we stayed at the Hilton Head Campground Resort and Marina. What a beautiful place. It was on an waterway. This is the nicest campground we have ever stayed at. Each sight was individually owned and rented out through the main office. Our sight was a large concrete pad with a table (not a picnic table) and a grill. It even had its own palm tree. The kids a a great time in the two pools. We did some bike riding and some kayaking (we finally got to try out our new kayaks.) We kayaked through oyster beds to an island made completely of oyster shells. Caroline named it Oyster Island. We saw a manatee and some dolphins in the waterway too. We learned all about their lives and habitats. We spent several hours at the Marine Discover Center. It was fascinating to learn all about the area we were visiting. Aunt Krysta and Uncle Bill were visiting the area too so we got to go out to dinner with them and Krysta’s parents. We had Aunt Krysta and Uncle and the Campions over as our first dinner guests.
