After our tour of the Capitol in Providence we headed to the East Bay Bike Path. We had a picnic and hit the trail with Grammy Red. We rode our tandem bikes from East Providence to Bristol Harbor and back. What a beautiful ride through towns, past a light house and Narragansett Bay. We saw loons fishing and enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells as the path took us by coves and marshes, over bridges, and through State Parks. We rode a total of 29 miles!
The next day we hit the Shining Sea Bike Way on Cape Cod. This time Marcus and Caroline rode their own bikes 13 miles! We rode from Falmouth Village to Wood Hole where the ferry will take you to Martha’s Vineyard. We rode by Salt Pond and stopped to skip rocks in Vineyard Sound. The waves and rocks there made the most amazing sound. Caroline of course had to collect a few of the smooth stones. We then rode past Falmouth to Buzzard’s Bay.
While we we staying at the Gateway to Cape Cod Campground Marcus and Caroline had a great time playing games in the arcade and riding bikes with Grammy Red. We were also greeted by three Fulltime Families. Fulltime Families is a group and online magazine that has advice, support, guidance and opportunities to socialize with other families who live on the road. I was so nice to spend time with families who have the same goals and obstacles that you do. Marcus and Caroline got to see how other kids live on the road. We hope to meet up with them somewhere again down the road.
