Neptune’s Net

IMG_5615As some of you know, Marc and I lived in California for a year before Marcus and Caroline were born.  Every weekend we would ride Marc’s motorcycle from Woodland Hills over the mountains through Topanga Canyon to Malibu.  There on route 1 between Malibu and Ventura is my favorite seafood restaurant……Neptune’s Net.  We had seen this place featured on a Rachel Ray show.  IMG_5451

When we knew we would be near Los Angles for a couple weeks.  I decided I had to eat there…..several times.  It is not a fancy place by any means.  You head to the wall of coolers.  Pick your favorite drink and order your fried seafood from the menu board.  When it is ready they call your number.IMG_5517But it’s not only the fried seafood.  It’s also the surf beach right across the street. IMG_5508 Marcus and Caroline loved the food and the beach as much as we did.  They made sand angels.IMG_5624

And a bridgeIMG_5617

Aunt Krysta, Uncle Bill and Flipp joined us for an afternoon of good food and fun!IMG_5459

One afternoon while we were there we even saw a breaching whale several times.  That was an amazing sight which I wasn’t able to catch on my camera.

IMG_5463I wish I had taken a picture of the fried clams and scallops, but I guess I will just have to wait until next time.
