On the first floor there is a frieze at the top of the walls. It is 400 feet long. There are images of wheat sheaves and bulls’ heads. It includes twenty one of the state’s prominent minerals as well as the state seal.
The Assembly chambers have been restored.The Senate chambers now house an exhibit on the Capitol including the restoration and state symbols.The State Assembly and Senate now hold session in the legislative building completed in 1971.
We did stop in at the Governor’s office on the first floor and were each given a Governor’s coin.
