On our way from Topeka, Kansas to Des Moines, Iowa we made a short stop in Mason City, Iowa. Marc drove our whole rig downtown and parked at the mall. We walked a short distance to the last standing hotel designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. You can read all about it here http://wrightonthepark.org/
This hotel was opened after a 18.5 million dollar restoration. We learned about the other hotels Wright had designed. The best known was the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. Recently in our Did You Know devotions we learned about Lincoln Logs. They were invented in 1916, by John Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright.
The mold for the toy was based on the architecture of the Imperial Hotel designed by the inventor’s father. The foundation of the hotel was designed with interlocking beams, which made the structure “earthquake proof”.
I am amazed every day at how God teaches us not only about Him, but about the world and its amazing people.
