Farewell

I started thinking about how to say goodbye to those we hold close in our hearts.  I looked up farewell and it seemed more appropriate than goodbye.

For most of the last two months our home has been parked across from my mom and Eddie’s house.  This is the longest we have been in one place in a year and a half.  We truly enjoyed our time in Pennsylvania and appreciate so much that my mom and Eddie welcomed us.  I know it wasn’t always easy for them to share there home and lives with us.  We did continue living in our camper, but used their water, electric, washing machine, garage and anything else we needed.  This time gave Marc, Caroline, Marcus and I time to really connect with our family and friends that live here.
Marcus and Caroline were able have sleepovers with Grammy Red.  We helped her clean up her garden.  She prepared an early Thanksgiving dinner for us (my favorite was definitely the stuffing.)  Caroline was especially happy to have someone do her hair.
We had fun visiting the neighbors and carving pumpkins from Grammy Carols garden on Halloween.  And of course we watched It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.
Pennsylvania is the best place to be in the fall.  This year the leaves were better than I remember.  Maybe just because I haven’t seen them in a couple of years.  Marcus had a good time setting off his rocket and having staring contests with Patriot the eagle.
We took some school pictures in the vibrate yellow leaves in front of the house.  Another fulltime family gave me the idea.  Just because we homeschool, we shouldn’t forget to have school pictures.
Well the weather is turning colder each day….  And new adventures are calling us….  It has been nice to be in one place for a while, but now we must say farewell.
Missing someone gets easier every day because even though it’s one day further from the last time you saw each other, it’s one day closer to the next time you will.  ~Author Unknown
On our way out of Pennsylvania we stopped near Bushkill.  We were able to spend a great day with our friends the Drapers and even have a few hours with another Fulltime Family.  We never know what surprises God has for us around the next bend..
Don’t be dismayed by good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.  And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends. -Richard Bach

Hello my US friends, sad to say goodbye, but time to meet new people and places. The Internet has made life a lot easier to keep on touch. Keep us posted and we will meet again.
We are in NYC for a week and now in Wantage NJ for a few days before we head for Washington, DC. The trip has been unreal. You guys would be surprised, but we rode bikes in Central Park , then down to Time Square. Unreal…riding between the taxis and all…and I didi it. Til we see you, keep in touch, Yvonne and Steve

I love this post, Connie! We enjoyed spending time with you there, too!

  3. Eddie & Mom

Thanks so much for the last 2 months! I agree, farewell is much easier to say. Can’t wait to meet you in SC! We love all 4 of you more than words can say. Mom

  4. The photos of your kids are so beautiful and joyful! Saying goodbye has been one of the hardest things we have done on the road. We usually say, “See you soon”, your farewell seems to be a great word to describe a moment of transition!
