Mariner Museum

We went on a field trip to the Mariners’ Museum with RV Homeschoolers!  Marcus and Cali learned about the history of the ocean alongside their friends.  From dinosaurs to pirates to iron clad war ships we gathered information about the depths of the sea.  Caroline spent most of our time at the museum delving into the personal stories shared by seafarers.  Marcus was enthralled with designing iron clad ships to test.  We attended a presentation earlier in the week about the Peninsula Campaign of the Civil War which happened in this area.  It was the first time iron clad ships were used. I personally never knew what iron clad really meant.  Seeing this film and displays at the Mariners’ Museum was an ah ha moment!  Seeing history come to life is one of the things I enjoy most about traveling.

Here is a like to some information about iron clad ships if you are interested
