We see manatees almost everyday in the marina on Ohio Key where we are staying. Normally one or two of the same four. Manatees are very interesting. These huge, gentle creatures are harmless, but intimidating. Females can grow to ten feet and 3500 pounds, while males grow nine feet and 1200 to 1800 pounds! Humans are their biggest predators along with red tide. Can you imagine that this gentle herbivore could be the start of a legend about the mermaid.

Hi. I am down in Fl now in Indian Rocks Beach. Are you going to stay in Largo again this year? We missed you by one day last year. Your trips sound so great. I love to read Cali and Marcus comments. Love to you. Marnie

  2. We have been so happy to see the manatees. Today, Gordon and I also saw five sea stars and two rays.
