Hiking the Flat Iron

I woke up on the morning of the eighth ready to hike the Flat Iron. A little before nine, we headed out of the house to meet our friends Chad, and Jonah. We started climbing. Soon after we started Jonah, Marcus, and I got into the lead. We stopped about two miles in to the hike,at the Basin. The Basin is a steep, almost vertical climb about one hundred feet climb. After we reached the top of the basin we started the last mile of the hike. It took us about an hour to do the last part because of how steep and rocky it is. At the top there in an amazing view. The way down is even harder than up because of how steep it is. It was dirty, dusty, and hard, but I enjoyed it.
