Arches National Park was a very beautiful park. While we were we went on several hikes and did the Junior Ranger program. Our first hike (and second favorite hike) was the Delicate Arch trail. We also went on the Delicate Arch View Point trail.
My favorite trail was the Fiery Furnace. You had to go to with a ranger. It was a strenuous hike. We squeezed through opening and jumped over gaps. It was a maze like labyrinth. I liked going on this hike.
We went on ranger led hike to The Windows. She talked about the geology and the plants in the area. We learned about biological soil crust. It is a net like structure made out of Microcopic Cyanobacteria and sand. It take a 100 years just to grow 2 inches and once you step on it, is gone in less than a minute.I though Arches National park was cool, but I don ‘t think I need to go back.
But I would definitely go back.
We stayed at OK RV Park in Moab for a week while we went to Arches and Canyonlands. It was nothing fancy, but they took our Passport America discount for the whole week, didn’t charge extra for the kids and cost $25 per night.
