Four Wheeling in Moab

To end our time in Arches we went on a 4×4 tour with the Moab Tourism Center. A 4×4 is like a Gator only meant for off-roading. At 5:45 we arrived at the tour center and our guide, Kristin, taught Dad how to drive the 4×4.  We took the Hells Revenge Tour.

Then we drove on the road to the trail. As soon as we got off the road we encountered the first obstacle, Devil’s Backbone.

On either side there was a big drop. After we were off that obstacle, we drove over rocky terrain. Then we started climbing a big mountain.  We stopped to see dinosaur foot prints that had been fossilized in rock.

We were almost vertical. Going down that hill was so fun because Dad let off the brake and we went down really quickly. We went up and down a couple more hills. Then we sped through the sand pit. We reached our turning point and the view was amazing.

We looked down on the Colorado river. On our way back we watched the sunset. The sky lit up with color. We drove back in the dark. I really enjoyed going on the 4×4 tour.
