We were ecstatic to know Grammy Red was going to spend a week with us in our second favorite place, Golden, Colorado (the first is Hawaii.) There is a creek for tubing, the Coors tour with free lemonade, and last but not least biking. So the day she got here we went on the Coors tour. I had three glasses of lemonade.
The next day we went to Rocky Mountain National Park, but Cali will tell you about that. On Saturday, the 4th of July, we went tubing, had a cook out and went to the Golden 4th of July party.
Sunday we went to the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave. We learned that he hunted buffalo for the railroad while it was being built. He then preformed in his shows all over the country and around the world. Grammy and Cali went to the quilt shop to buy fabric and then we went to the movies to see Inside Out. It was a cool movie.
Monday Grammy and I went for a walk on the Chimney Gulch Trail. While we were walking we saw a ten point elk! That was really neat, but we didn’t have a camera. We took Mom, Dad and Cali back but he was gone. We went shopping and Grammy bought me Clue for my birthday. We had fun playing it.
Tuesday we moved from Clear Creek Campground ($45/day for full hook up) to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds ($35 for water and electric.) We would have liked to stay longer at Clear Creek , but they were full. We went for a bike ride on the trail near by. Then we went to the animal shelter right by the fairgrounds. We went to Buffalo Rose for dinner.
Grammy had to leave on Wednesday. She almost missed her flight because of a problem at the airport. I personally wish she did so she could stay longer. I had a great time in Golden with Grammy!
