We went to Rocky Mountain National Park with Grandma Red. While we were there we went on an amazing hike and did the Junior Ranger program. First we went to the Visitor Center. There was a Wild Cats program going on so we joined and learned a little about mountain lions.
Then we took a bus to a parking lot and then took another bus to the trail head. As soon as we got started the trail started going up. On our way up we passed three lakes. The second one was my favorite. The water was icy cold. On our way we even got to see snow!
When we reached our final destination we were rewarded with a spectacular view. The lake was called Emerald Lake. It kind of looked like a big emerald hence it name. We stared going down we saw trout,a yellow bellied marmot, and elk.
At the end we boarded a bus to go back down the hill, but when we got to the point we had to switch we got a little confused and boarded the wrong bus and it took a long time to get down. Once down we turned in our Ranger Books and received our badges. Rocky Mountain National Park is beautiful and I’m glad we got to go with Grammy.
